Confirmation of Expected Results

Now that the Q12018 earnings season is mostly behind us let’s reflect on the results and some recent comments from those who may be closer to the data, than the average investor.

Last week did bring a couple days of relief with good market performance.  It did provide a nice change from the market lull we’ve been experiencing.  And from just a couple months ago we were looking for this Cinderella story.

According to this Factset report 81% of companies have reported as of May 4th, 2018.  Here is a snapshot of the encouraging overall results that we expected to see from the first quarter 2018 earnings.

In addition to corporate earnings telling us how the economy is performing along, here are some recent voices that have added their confidence in the economy’s performance.
